The final step in the journey to become an Australian Citizen is to make the Pledge of Commitment at a citizenship ceremony. Citizenship ceremonies are special events and are arranged by Council. They fulfill requirements under Australian law. They also provide an important opportunity to officially welcome new citizens as full members of the Australian community.
The Regional Council of Goyder conducts conferral ceremonies for approved Australian Citizenship applicants residing in the council area. Ceremonies are arranged when the council is advised by the Department of Immigration & Border Protection.
