Tourism, Arts & Heritage Policy Adopted

A foundation policy for Tourism, Arts and Heritage, developed for and including the residents of the Goyder Council region, was adopted at a recent meeting of the Regional Council of Goyder.

Regional Council of Goyder elected members agreed on the policy, which supports Council’s aim and commitment to engage with relevant stakeholders, effectively working together to deliver positive economic growth outcomes.

“The policy’s objectives are to grow our tourism industry with a quality visitor experience, promoting the destination, and continually improve as an industry, both individually and collaboratively,” Council’s Chief Executive Officer David Stevenson said.

“We also aim to develop strong linkages across the community in the creation and celebration of the region’s arts and cultural vitality, diversity, heritage and history.”

Mr Stevenson said tourism was a key growth factor contributing to the region’s prosperity, with more people than ever interested in destination tourism experiences.

“The policy supports a foundation for tourism, arts and heritage development and growth, which will create a diverse range of experiences for regional visitors and, in turn, create vibrant communities".
