Centenary of Armistice services in Goyder

The Regional Council of Goyder invites you to join us to reflect on those who died or suffered in the Great War, and all wars and armed conflicts since. Remembrance Day is always an important day but this year even more so as we mark the Centenary of the First World War Armistice.

At 11am on the 11th November 1918, the guns on the Western Front fell silent, and peace was made.

The tradition of stopping at 11am started on the very first anniversary of Armistice Day in 1919 and has continued for 100 years.

On November 11, at 11am, wherever you are: we ask you to observe one minute’s silence.

We thank our local RSL Branches and community groups for facilitating Remembrance Day services across the Goyder Region to commemorate this special event.
