AGL SA Rally of the Heartlands

The Challenge Continues 1-2 June 2019. With more exciting and unique challenges for drivers and even more opportunities for car enthusiasts and community members to view the rally in action, this year's "Rally of the Heartlands" in Goyder is going to be better than ever!

The Rally of the Heartland will return in 2019 – with naming rights sponsor, AGL Energy continuing, and featuring windfarm stages of up to approximately 40km. These are exciting, challenging and very technical stages that provide unparalleled competition, and are unique in Australia.

It will be an over 450-kilometre competitive event based in the Hallett/Burra/Mount Bryan area, and one that is quite a bit “different” to what has gone before. It will be held across the first weekend of June- 1st and 2nd June 2019, and the competition will run on the Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday. The rally will start from 7.30am on Saturday leaving from Paxton Square Cottages.

This year the event organisers have planned even more spectator sites across the two day event and a spectator guide can be downloaded below or are available from the Burra & Goyder Visitor Information Centre in Burra. A "Diesel and Dust" Spectator Point has been created for Sunday with access from the Barrier highway with parking on Leighton Road (western side of Barrier Highway). A map of the point can be downloaded below.

There will also be opportunities for enthusiasts and community members to mingle with the drivers and check out the cars with a breakfast being held on the Sunday morning at Paxton Square Cottages (1 Kingston Street Burra) starting from 6.30am followed by a FREE community lunch, sponsored by AGL Energy, at the historic Burra Monster Mine site from 12pm-3.30pm. During and after lunch watch the cars compete on the Johnny Green Special Stage.
